Batteries:

Go to the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s website www.rbrc.com for a collection site near you.

Or you can bring your NiCd batteries and rechargeable batteries your nearest Radio Shack for recycling

 

Boats:

Call Interfaith at 1-877-GIVE-123.


 

Books:

Donate your books to your local library or school. You may can also send your children’s books via book rate to: Book Ends/6520 Platt Ave #331/West Hills, CA 91307 and they will redistribute them to youth centers, literacy programs and schools in need.


 

Building materials, Construction & Demolition Debris:

Call Habitat for Humanity’s Restore at 619-516-5267 to recycle doors, tile, windows, lighting, shutters, sinks, tubs, cabinets, wiring, roofing and more.

Take them to Staples or Office Depot and you will typically receive a discount toward your next ink purchase.

If you change your own oil, take it to Jiffy Lube during business hours.

 Plant Pots:

Most nurseries will gladly take plastic pots of any sizes to reuse for growing nursery stock and some will give you credit for them, just inquire at your local nursery.  One nursery in particular, Las Pilitas Native Plant Nursery in Escondido (www.laspilitas.com) 760-749-5930 will take one and five gallon pots, and they donate 10 cents for every pot you bring in to the California Native Plant Society (www.cnps.org)


Prom/Bridesmaids Dresses:

Donate your old prom or bridesmaids dresses to a girl in need at www.princessproject.org



Styrofoam Packing Peanuts:

Take them to Mailboxes Etc. They will gladly take them and reuse them.

 


Women’s Suits and Accessories
